Let’s Find the Kitten

Let’s Find the Kitten, by Alex Willmore, is a fun twist on a traditional lift-the-flap book, one I think is genius. Most of our flap books, which my toddlers love, are looking worn and torn. No matter how thick the flaps are, they end up getting torn or crunched. The flaps in this book are felt! Time will tell how they hold up, but I don’t cringe every time Little Kid sits down to look through this book, and that has been quite a lot this week.

Let’s Find the Kitten is a typical “find the _____” (you fill in the blank) book that toddlers love. The illustrations are bold and bright. They feature common plants and animals which Little Kid loves to identify. There are die-cuts scattered throughout, perfect for little fingers to explore.

Because of this book, Little Kid’s favorite new word is “hide”, and hide she does. We’ve been playing hide-and-seek endlessly and she’s gotten pretty good even though she’s not quite 20 months old yet. She’s also constantly searching for our two cats who tend to hide from her grabby little hands.

If you have a cat lover, and are looking for a sturdy, lift-the-flap book definitely take a look at this one!
