Hi! My name is Lori. I am an Orton- Gillingham certified special education teacher, turned stay at home mom of 2 daughters. Big Kid is 3 1/2 and Little Kid is 1 year old. As you can probably guess, we spend a lot of our day reading great children’s literature.

I have always been interested in children’s literature. My mother read to my siblings and I every day growing up, and I have never stopped. During my late childhood and adolescent years I could often be found reading well past my “bed time”. I still love getting lost in a great fiction book, or learning something new from nonfiction. My hope is that I can pass this love of reading onto my children.

Over the past year I’ve worked hard to find quality children’s literature related to what’s going on in our lives, to enrich both the experiences and the books. I hope you spend some time, and get some ideas from these posts that you can use with the children in your life.
